Crossing the Bridge onto Harkers Island is like a step back in time to a place where life was much less complicated.
 On the right, at the Harbor-of Refuge, are the Shrimp Boats that catch the Seafood served in the local  um good!
    No traffic lights here, and very little traffic. If you want a peaceful, laid back Vacation,then you came to the right place.

Whats a vacation for ? Relax,FishCape Light House.The Diamond Lady.Guiding Mariners around the Dangerous Shoals  Known as the Gateway To Cape Lookout, it is the jumping-off place for a trip to the Cape Lookout National Seashore & Shackleford Banks.
Four Ferry Services provide transportation to and from the Beach at Cape Lookout. Most run every hour , and you can stay an hour or stay all day / your call.
  There is a good chance of seeing Dolphins, and the Wild Horses of Shackleford Banks along the way.
    Surf-fishing is good year-round. If you bring your own Boat, you can launch at several good well maintained Ramps where is is a short run out to the Rock Jettys and beyond.
 Ther are many places to fish inshore for species such as Flounder.Trout,Bluefish,Cobia,Red Drum,Black Drum & others.
 Offshore Boats can expect a lot of action from Albacore,King Mackeral,Cobia,Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, and White & Blue Marlin.
 Bottom fishermen will find an extreme abundance Sea Bass, Grouper, Red Mouth Grunt & Red Snapper.
Gas prices on the Island are usually within .02-.03 cents of In-Town prices and the Local Marina has Ethanol-Free for Boats.
   With the recent loss of Calico Jacks Motel, accomadations on the Island can be hard-to-find for the popular time frames. We urge you to book early.
The Lighthouse is a 15 min.ride by Water-Taxi / $15. Round Trip. At the Cape, you can walk over the Boardwalk to the Never-Crowded Beach and surf-fish, pick-up beautiful Shells,or just Sun-Bath to your heart`s content. A Bathhouse with showers is available
See the Ponies on Browns Island from the Screened In Front Pizer..within a mile of everything on the Island, since we are kinda In-the Middle.Very little Auto traffic makes for good Biking. Biking.
Close to Groceries, Marinas, Bait, Tackle, Boat & Trailer Repair, Restaurants, Boat Launch, Free Bayside Fishing Pier, Swimming & Wading Beach, Kayak Rentals, Picnic Areas, Hiking Trails, and more.
